On May 1, the Law Library celebrated Law Day with a program called "Reflections on the Law from the Collections of the Law Library of Congress." Law Day was established by Presidential Proclamation on April 30, 1958, because "it is fitting that people of this nation should remember with pride and vigilantly guard the great heritage of liberty, justice and equality under law which our forefathers bequeathed to us."
