Library's booths at the ALA Midwinter Meeting

The National Digital Library Program, the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, the Learning Page, and the Copyright Offices are among the programs featured in the Library's booths at the ALA Midwinter Meeting. - Photos by Oscar & Associates

The Library will offer demonstrations, printed materials and free posters and other items in its exhibit booths during the Midwinter Meeting of the American Library Association. The Library's main booth is No. 1142. There visitors can learn more about the National Digital Library Program, including the American Memory historical collections and THOMAS legislative database; how to search LOCIS, which includes the online catalog; what is available online from the U.S.Library's booths at the ALA Midwinter Meeting Copyright Office; the latest products from the Cataloging Distribution Service; programs of the Center for the Book; details of the Library of Congress/Ameritech National Digital Library Competition; and how the Library is serving the K-12 community with its online Learning Page.

A beautiful poster of a photomosaic of 1,100 images from the Mathew Brady Civil War collection, arranged to form a portrait of Abraham Lincoln, will also be available, free, while supply lasts. And don't forget to pick up the latest issue of Civilization, the Library's award-winning magazine. This month's cover story focuses on "Saving the World's Languages."

Selected products from the Sales Shop will also be available.

Information about the services of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped can be found at booth No. 2072, and representatives from the Federal Library and Information Center Committee/FEDLINK can be found in booth No. 1147.
