Note: Established as a weekly. The earliest issue located is that of Sept. 6, 1787 (vol. 1, no. 14); working back from this date, it would appear the publication was established on June 7, 1787. With the issue of Jan. 6, 1791, the word "and" in the title was changed to "&". Continued by the Virginia herald, and Fredericksburg & Falmouth advertiser, starting with the issue of Oct. 20, 1795.
