CONNECTICUT

HARTFORD.

4. The Connecticut courant. w., Oct. 29, 1764-May 31, 1774; Feb. 17, May 5, 12, 1778; Mar. 21, 1791-Dec. 29, 1800+

Note: The Oct. 29, 1764, issue was a prospectus, stating that the first issue would appear on Nov. 19, 1764; but since the first known issue, Dec. 3, 1764, no. 2, makes no mention of any delay, it is probable the first issue appeared on Nov. 26. For a brief period between Nov. 10, 1766-Apr. 6, 1767, title was: Connecticut courant and the weekly advertiser. With the issue of Apr. 13, 1767, title again became known as The Connecticut courant. Continued by the Connecticut courant and Hartford weekly intelligencer, starting with the issue of June 7, 1774. The title Connecticut courant appeared in separate instances on the following dates: Feb. 17, May 5, 12, 1778. With the issue of Mar. 21, 1791, title again became known as The Connecticut courant. Publication continued through Oct. 1914.
