Note: This paper might be considered a revival of The Essex journal established in 1773. John Mycall was also publisher of that journal when it ceased publication in 1777. The later paper, however, has a different size, type, page heading and style, and begins with no. 1. Continued by The Essex journal & New Hampshire packet, starting with the issue of Dec. 13, 1786.
