Note: With the issue of Dec. 1, 1796, the heading "A Commercial gazette" was placed above the title, changed to "Commercial Gazette" with the issue of Dec. 26, 1796, and again to "Russell's commercial gazette" with the issue of Sept. 7, 1797, but in neither case was this intended to be a part of the title. Continued by Russell's gazette, commercial and political, starting with the issue of June 7, 1798.
