The relator listed below has been recently approved. The code will be added to the MARC Code List for Relators list.
The code should not be used in exchange records until 60 days after the date of this notice to provide implementers time to include newly-defined codes in any validation tables.
The following relator has been added to the MARC Code List for Relators list for usage in appropriate fields and elements.
The term "author of introduction, etc." (code "aui") has been deprecated. Users should use "writer of foreword" (code "wfw"), "writer of introduction" (code "win") or "writer of preface" (code "wpr") instead.
The definition for "adapter" (code "adp") has been rewritten to allow for expanded usage. Please see the Term Sequence page (https://www.loc.gov/marc/relators/relaterm.html) for the new definition.
