The Library of Congress Federal Research Division has issued two new country studies in a series published under an agreement with the U.S. Department of the Army: Greece: A Country Study, (Glenn E. Curtis, editor) and Belarus and Moldova: Country Studies, (Helen Fedor, editor).
The series consists of 109 titles and covers approximately 143 sovereign states and 15 dependencies. Typically, a book in the series is intended as an introduction to a country and describes and analyzes its history, society, economy, government, politics and national security. Books about more than one country (such as the Belarus-Moldova book) cover the same subjects in a more condensed form. All books in the series are hardbound and contain maps, charts, photographs, tables, chapter bibliographies, a glossary and an index.
Over 1 million copies of the books in the series have been sold and more than 200,000 copies have been distributed to depository libraries throughout the United States.
A list of books in print in the series is available from the Country Studies Program, Federal Research Division, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. 20540-4840.
