- Ray Young Bear reads and discusses his word-song "Wichihaka/The One I Live With" on August 26, 2020, from his home on the Meskwaki Settlement in Iowa. Young Bear, a Meskwaki (Red Earth People) tribal member, lives in central Iowa. He is a writer, artist, photographer and musician. In 2015, his book, Manifestation Wolverine: The Collected Poetry of Ray Young Bear, was published by Open Road Media. His bilingual poems and songs have been featured in The New Yorker, The Iowa Review, Under a Warm Green Linden and Native Voices, an anthology by Tupelo Press. In 2020, his poems were included in When the Light of the World Was Subdued, Our Songs Came Through: A Norton Anthology of Native Nations Poetry, edited by Joy Harjo, U.S. Poet Laureate.
