Definition:
Manages projects and leads initiatives in the workplace. Organizes resources, people, and activities; and ensures collaboration and the achievement of project and function goals and targets. Ensures effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of services, products and/or programs.
- Ensures that services, products and/or functional programs are delivered on time and produce results that are valuable to the Library.
- Prepares work plans for projects and programs that have measurable short- and long-range objectives.
- Organizes staff and other resources, prioritizes work, manages use of staff time, and oversees activities to achieve balanced, positive results for multiple projects and/or programs.
- Leverages staff skills, expertise, and strengths to build effective project or functional teams.
- Clearly communicates the purpose, goals, roles, and responsibilities of the project or program to all team members.
- Facilitates collaborative processes to help project or functional teams work collectively to solve problems, make group decisions, and accomplish goals.
- Fosters team identity through meaningful formal or informal recognition.
- Holds self and staff accountable for achieving project and functional goals and targets.
- Conducts After Action Reviews that capture “lessons learned” data for improving future projects or programs.
