Definition:
Proactively anticipates, manages and constructively resolves conflicts and disagreements; identifies ways conflict can lead to positive change; and takes appropriate action to address conflicts following Library policies and using Library resources.
- Anticipates, mitigates, and constructively resolves conflicts and disagreements.
- Investigates the conditions that have led to a conflict and analyzes the lessons learned to prevent future conflict.
- Identifies and capitalizes on instances where conflict can lead to positive change.
- Takes action to address conflicts in accordance with Library regulations, including using the Library’s professional mediation and guidance resources where appropriate.
- Holds staff accountable for preventing and resolving internal conflicts.
