Definition:
Promotes efforts aimed at improving current business processes through a culture that fosters continuous improvement and innovation. Identifies and implements improvements and innovations that increase efficiency and enhance work quality. Promotes ongoing development of staff and takes initiative to assess and self-develop supervisory competencies.
- Takes initiative to assess the overall effectiveness of the work unit’s performance and accomplishments.
- Strives to implement improvements and innovations that increase efficiency and enhance work quality.
- Encourages and is receptive to unconventional ideas and contributions.
- Recognizes staff members who make innovative suggestions that improve business processes, work environment, or customer service.
- Keeps staff informed of how their work is related to and how they will be expected to contribute to new initiatives.
- Encourages staff participation in cross-functional strategic activities such as task forces, focus groups, or special projects dedicated to improving the Library.
