Babylonstoren (South Africa)
Geonet was not cited as required, and Geonet lists a farm and a peak in the same province with the variant name Babylonstoren. Is the farm the same as the garden being proposed? If not, the garden needs to be qualified appropriately. The proposal may be resubmitted.
Barrow, Point (Alaska)
This is a resubmit from 1507, the Summary for which stated,
This proposal sought to add the UF Nuvuk to the heading, and the only 670 that supported the proposal cited the work cat. GNIS – or GNS, for foreign names – should be searched whenever a new geographic heading is being added to LCSH, but it should also be searched whenever a new variant is being added to an existing heading. The reason that a variant should be searched through GNIS is that there could be a conflict of which the cataloger is unaware. There are nine variants in GNIS, which should be added in the proposal. The cataloger should record the search of GNIS and all variants found in order to verify the additional UF as well as to improve the record overall.

Cosmocrat
The introduction to the work being cataloged found on Amazon indicated that the work is about globalization, not “cosmocrats.” The introduction on Amazon says in part, “the first comprehensive examination of the most important revolution of our time – globalization. … An illuminating tour of the global economy and a fascinating assessment of its political impact.” The work should be assigned Globalization, or maybe Globalization—Political aspects. For that reason, the proposal was unnecessary.
In addition, the word cosmocrat does not have a definition, which is a requirement to establish a heading. Collins English Dictionary says that it is a British word that means “a ruler of the world.” According to the citation in the record, the work being cataloged says they are “The cosmocrats: an anxious elite. The definition of a cosmocrat is much tighter than just "somebody who has prospered from globalization". Cosmocrats are defined by their attitudes and lifestyles rather than just their bank accounts.” Yourdictionary.com, which is cited but is not authoritative for subject proposal purposes, says a cosmocrat is “A prosperous business school graduate benefiting from globalization and living the global lifestyle.” From these definitions, it is clear that “cosmocrat” has no settled definition.
Dayak (Indonesian people)--Missions
The heading was already changed based on a change to the base heading. Also, H 193 sec. 5, states that a reference to the former heading should be omitted when a [heading ]–[subdivision ] record is being changed because the basic heading itself is also being changed, and the 4XX field containing the old form of the heading has been added to the authority record for the basic heading.

Drukpa (Himalayan people)
This proposal was made to add the UF Bhutanese (Himalayan people) onto the existing heading, but no changes were made to the existing 670s. One of the 670s says that the Dzongkha language is also called Bhutanese and Drukpa; it does not say that the Drukpa people are called Bhutanese. Additionally, that same 670 provides several other variants for Dzongkha language, and there was (appropriately) no suggestion of making them UFs on Drukpa. The proposal was not approved.

Elymaisians

First, Geonames.org is not the same as Geonet. Second, the heading should be in English. Third, H 690 sec. 10.c specifically says that headings for larger groups should not be made just to make a BT. The proposal was not necessary.
Islam and antisemitism
The cataloger should provide more information about the work being cataloged. The title translates to “Antisemitism and migration” and the only English information provided is “Islam and antisemitism.” That does not demonstrate that the work fits H 310, which says that these types of headings are for works that discuss the relationship between two very general topics from the perspectives of both topics. Jumūʻīyah (Arab tribe)
The heading was already correct. The change in the proposal was the opposite of the changes that were announced in the 1807 Summary, in which a specific request was made “that catalogers not submit proposals merely to revise headings, and that they not purposely seek out headings to which other revisions can be proposed, solely to justify changing the heading.”

In addition, importantly, the proposal contains a former heading reference, but it is a proposal for a new heading, and no attempt has been made to cancel the “former” heading (sh 91002189). The proposal may be resubmitted.

Mizo language
The proposal is to change the existing heading Lushai language to Mizo language. When the name of a language is changed, all associated headings such as Lushai literature and all of its NTs, and any NTs of NTs should be changed as well. The proposals may be resubmitted along with proposals for all of the associated necessary changes.
Military publishing
The classification number that was included in the 053 field on the proposal must be established before it can be assigned to a subject heading. The proposal for the subject heading may be resubmitted along with a proposal for the classification number.
Network science
The meeting determined that the meaning of the term Network science is very nearly synonymous with the meaning of the existing heading System analysis, and establishing two terms for virtually the same concept was not considered practical. Instead, UFs for Network science and Network analysis will be added to the existing heading System analysis. The proposal was not approved.

GENRE/FORM TERMS
Adult contemporary music
The first paragraph of the Grove online article, which was omitted from the citation on the proposal, states:
Adult contemporary: A term used to describe popular music that appeals to listeners between the ages of 25 and 55. Because it is based primarily on marketing demographics rather than being strictly defined by musical elements, it embraces a wide range of genres. In the 1950s the moniker “middle of the road” (or “MOR”) was given to radio stations that played music intended for older audiences, including swing- and big band-influenced tunes. These stations arranged their playlists to be separate from youth-oriented rock and roll. When Billboard began to echo this format in 1961, their adult-oriented chart was entitled Easy listening. After changing names several times, the chart officially became known as Adult Contemporary in 1979.
Age group is demographic, not genre/form. The proposal was not approved.
Animal biographies
The difference between a biography of William Shakespeare and the biography of a chimpanzee named Ralph is the subject matter, not the genre. A biography is a biography. The proposal was not approved.
Gay films; Lesbian films
The UFs LGBT… and LGBTQ… that were intentionally removed by the meeting should not be re-introduced. Both of the initialisms would be “upward” references on the headings. The proposals were not approved.
Graphic medicine (Comics)
Medicine is the topic; the genre/form is graphic novels. In addition, there are not yet any narrower terms of this type under Graphic novels, and the meeting does not wish to set that precedent. The subject heading for the topic should be postcoordinated with the genre/form term Graphic novels. The proposal was not approved.
Music criticism
The citation from Grove Music gives a definition that is the same as the definition of the existing term Music reviews. The work being cataloged seems to be music reviews, and as such should have the existing term assigned. If the work is not music reviews, the cataloger should do more research to provide a definition and write a contrasting scope note. The proposal may be resubmitted.
Psychological drama
The proposal did not provide any evidence that psychological drama is a dramatic “form” in any of the authoritative reference sources. Instead, the proposal includes a definition of psychodrama, which is a psychological/psychoanalytical tool. Usage alone is not sufficient evidence that a particular genre or form exists. The proposal was not approved.
Views
The scope note is incorrectly formatted, and it gives two separate and conflicting definitions. The meeting suggests that the term Pictures should be assigned instead, but the proposal may be resubmitted with clarification if desired, according to the definition chosen.
