Classification
PL957.5.H97
The work being cataloged is criticism of twenty-first century Korean hypertext fiction. History and criticism of individual forms of Korean fiction classify in the span PL966.15-966.7. The proposal may be resubmitted.
PL2669.W36
The work being cataloged is a criticism of the Chinese title Gu jing ji, the authorship of which is disputed. Research should be done to determine whether a probable author can be determined, and an appropriate title or name/title authority record should be made (see AACR2 rule 21.5 for rules on works by unknown or uncertain authorship). The classification proposal should be based on the heading in that authority record and may be resubmitted.
Subject Headings
Kwangdong Region (Korea); Kwansŏ Region (Korea)
Kwandong and Kwansŏ are historical provinces of Korea that existed during the Joseon dynasty. They should therefore be established in the name authority file as jurisdictional headings. The proposals were not approved.
Oirat literature
This new proposal was created in order to add an 053 field to the existing authority record for Oirat literature (sh2008005039). Generally speaking, revisions to existing authority records should be proposed by copying and updating the existing record, not by proposing a new one (see instructions in Subject Headings Manual H 195). A formal proposal is not necessary to add an 053 to an existing record, though, and step-by-step instructions are provided in H 196. The classification number will be added to the existing authority record offlist. The proposal was not necessary.
Rio de la Plata (Argentina and Uruguay)—Civilization—Portuguese influences
It appears that the cataloger may have intended to make a proposal for the Portuguese influences on the Rio de la Plata Region, instead of on the Rio de la Plata itself. If that is the case, the proposal may be resubmitted.
