Other decisions:

Ancient religious architecture

Works on types of architecture in broad time periods have traditionally been assigned two headings, one denoting the type and the other, the time period. The work being cataloged can be adequately described by assigning Religious architecture and Architecture, Ancient. The proposal was not approved.

Bisa language (Zambia and Congo); Bisa language (Burkina Faso and Ghana)

According to Ethnologue, 15th ed., Bisa is a dialect of Lala-Bisa spoken in Zambia and Congo, and not a separate language. The form of the existing heading should have been changed to indicate that it is a dialect. Additionally, since Lala-Bisa is not currently established, it must also be proposed. The Bisa language spoken in Burkina Faso and Ghana is also used in Cte d'Ivoire and Togo, and may more properly be called Bissa, according to Ethnologue. Revisions to the proposals Bisa language (Zambia and Congo) and Bisa language (Burkina Faso and Ghana) may be resubmitted, along with a proposal for Lala-Bisa language.

Drunk driving

This proposal to provide a UF from Automobile drivers--Alcohol use to Drunk driving is improper because alcohol use by drivers is not necessarily drunk driving. The proposal was not approved.

Religious enthusiasm; and related records

These proposals were made to revise the heading Enthusiasm--Religious aspects to Religious enthusiasm. Religious enthusiasm is enthusiasm for one's religion, sometimes with an evangelistic bent. Enthusiasm--Religious aspects denotes works about the religious aspects of enthusiasm, not necessarily religious enthusiasm. A separate proposal for religious enthusiasm may be submitted if desired. The proposals were not approved.

Hours of labor, Flexible

This proposal was made to provide a cross-reference from Flexible work arrangements to Hours of labor, Flexible. Flexible work arrangements has a much broader meaning, including but not limited to, flexible hours, telecommuting, and job sharing. A separate proposal for flexible work arrangements may be proposed if desired. The proposal was not approved.

Labyrinths in motion pictures

The work being cataloged uses labyrinths as a metaphor, and does not discuss the depiction of labyrinths in motion pictures. The proposal is not appropriate to the work and is not approved.

Nature and nation-state

According to the Subject Headings Manual H 310, headings in the form [Topic] and [topic] are to be established only when the work being cataloged discusses the relationship between topics from both perspectives and in very broad terms. The work being cataloged does not seem to fit this description and can be sufficiently cataloged using Nature and civilization, Human geography, or similar headings. The proposal was not approved.

Rome--Religion

It is not LCSH practice to make references of the type [Geographic adjective] religion to headings in the form [Geographic heading]--Religion, as was proposed here. The proposal was not approved.
