Changes were made as indicated on the approved list.

Subject Headings

Architecture [and related headings]

These changes to headings for architecture reflect a decision to treat the chronological subdivisions for architecture in a manner similar to the treatment of most topical subjects, including treatment in the field of decorative arts. The subdivision --History will now be used before the subdivision for the time period.

Mulberry Harbor (Arromanches-les-Bains, France)

The term "mulberry harbor" is a generic term for a specific type of floating harbor. There is already a subject heading Mulberry harbors established for the generic concept. Since there were only two of these harbors ever built, and the generic heading is subdivisible by place, it seems more desirable to use the generic heading with subdivision for place. The proposal was not approved.

Notaufnahmelager Marienfelde (Berlin, Germany : Refugee camp)

Refugee camps should now be treated as corporate name headings instead of subject headings. The list of categories in the Subject Cataloging Manual, H 405, will be revised to reflect this decision. This camp may be established as a name heading. The subject proposal was not approved.
