Present from CPSO: P. Weiss, K. Griffiths, R. Goudreau, D. Thompson, E. Dechman
Classification
PL3651.B3-.B395
Since Baima is not a dialect of Tibetan, the proposal to establish it at this location was not approved. Instead, the meeting established it at PL3801.B297-.B29795, under Himalayan languages.
Subject Headings
Spanish language--Graphemics
Since the subdivision --Graphemics is free-floating under languages, this proposal is not necessary.
Comarcas
Many comarcas, especially those in Brazil and Panama but also including some in Spain and Portugal, are jurisdictional in nature and as such are candidates for assignment as descriptive access points. For that reason, the decision has been made to establish all comarcas as name headings rather than as subject headings. Those that have already been established as subject headings will be cancelled and re-established as name headings. The instructions in the Subject Cataloging Manual: Subject Headings, H 760, sec. 1.e.(3), will re revised when the new Subject Headings Manual is published later this year (2008).
