The Czech Republic is included under other European countries in PN5355. Therefore this proposal to add a different number for the country is not approved.
Subject Headings
CPSO is currently engaged in a project to create large numbers of authority records for commonly used subject heading strings that incorporate free-floating subdivisions. These records are being created solely for the purpose of validating these strings in Voyager. These subject heading strings will not be printed in LCSH. These validation records may be recognized by the legend in field 667 of the authority record "Record generated for validation purposes." More details about this project will be provided in a message to LC staff that CPSO will send out soon.
If, in the process of submitting a proposal to change an existing heading or subdivision, a cataloger should encounter a validation record that includes the heading or subdivision being changed, the cataloger should not prepare a proposal to update the validation record. Instead, the cataloger should attach a note to the proposal alerting CPSO to the fact that one or more validation records exist that will need to be changed. CPSO will update the validation records but those changes will not appear on the weekly list.
