Bivalve industry
Headings for industries and their products normally use similar terminology. In this case the heading for the product is established in Latin as Bivalvia. Terminology should be investigated to determine whether the heading Bivalvia should be changed or whether the industry heading should correspond to the existing heading for the product. The proposal may be resubmitted.
Deliberative democracy
It seems desirable to include a scope note for this concept to clarify its difference from the more general heading Democracy. The proposal may be resubmitted with an appropriate scope note.
Filmstrips as art materials
The book submitted with this proposal was not about the use of filmstrips in art. The proposal was not approved.
Foreign language videos
Other similarly-constructed headings such as Foreign language films indicate that such headings are used for products produced in languages not customarily used in the place of production. The works cited in support of this proposal do not seem to fall into this category. The proposal was not approved.
Luciferases; Renilla luciferase
While the more general heading for Luciferases is approved, the more specific heading for Renilla luciferase needs additional work. There is no existing heading for the source organism. Such a heading would serve as a model for the terminology of the luciferase proposal, especially since there appear to be alternative names for the organism. The proposal may be resubmitted with an additional proposal for the source organism.
Metanarrative
There appears to be two meanings for this term--one as a literary concept, the other as a social-psychological concept. The proposal may be resubmitted with clarification concerning the intended concept.
Promotional films
There is an existing subject heading Advertising in motion pictures. It is unclear how the existing heading and the proposed heading are related. The proposed heading may be added as a UF reference to the existing heading, or the two headings may be linked by explanatory scope notes. The proposal may be resubmitted.
Solidarism
It is unclear how this proposed heading differs from the existing heading Solidarity. The proposal may be resubmitted with an explanatory scope note if there is a significant difference.
