Subject Headings
Harley-Davidson motorcyclists
There is no precedent in LCSH for establishing headings for users of particular brands of products. The editorial meeting felt that it is not desirable to begin this new practice. The proposal was therefore not approved. The basic heading for the group of people should be assigned, and if appropriate an additional heading may be assigned to bring out the specific brand of product.
Jitter (Computer program language)
The qualifier for the heading is not appropriate in the Jitter is not a language. It appears to be a computer file that can be purchased and downloaded. As such, it should be established as a name heading. The proposal was not approved.
Third Coalition, War of the, 1805
This proposal may be resubmitted together with proposals to update the BTs on existing headings for individual battles that were part of this war. Those BTs need to be changed from Napoleanic Wars, 1800-1815--Campaigns--[place] to Third Coalition, War of the, 1805. An 053 field should be added to the record for this new heading: DC227-DC227.5.
