Hamitic languages CANCEL
The meeting did not approve cancelling the existing heading Hamitic languages and adding it as a UF reference on Afroasiatic languages. Although many scholars no longer recognize Hamitic as a distinct language family, the meeting wishes to retain the heading for materials that discuss collectively the languages that have traditionally been called Hamitic.
Literary theory
The meeting did not approve adding a UF Literary theory to the existing heading Literature--History and criticism--Theory, etc. because the heading Literature--Philosophy is used for works on "the theory of literature, including its aims, ideals, meaning, relations, to philosophy, etc.," according to its scope note.
