Other decisions:
Hiring fairs
It appears that this proposed heading is intended to represent a historic cultural practice in Great Britain and Ireland although there is nothing in the heading itself or BT reference to indicate that fact. In order to distinguish this phenomenon from the contemporary concept of career/job fairs, it would be useful to qualify the heading, possibly by "(British Isles)," and to provide a scope note. A proposal may be resubmitted.
Social legislation UF Family services--Law and legislation
The meeting did not approve adding a UF "Family services-Law and legislation" to the general heading Social legislation because it would be an upward used for reference. According to instruction sheet H 373 sec. 5, such references are made only when it is clearly impractical to establish a specific heading for a separate concept. A proposal to establish a new heading in the form "Family services--Law and legislation" may be resubmitted.
