Renowned Classical Guitar Artist Francesc de Paula Soler To Perform at the Library of Congress

Catalan classical guitar artist Francesc de Paula Soler presents a concert at the Library of Congress at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Whittall Pavilion on the ground floor of the Thomas Jefferson Building, 10 First St., S.E. Washington, D.C.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, is being sponsored by the Hispanic Division and the Music Division of the Library of Congress, in cooperation with the Mission of Spain at the Organization of American States and Spain’s International Cooperation and Development Agency (AECID).

Soler is the scion of a well-known Spanish artistic family. He began studying guitar at the age of 11 and later trained at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Barcelona, Spain. He continued postgraduate studies with Andres Segovia and Narciso Yepes. He performs and lectures around the world and has been featured on television and radio programs in Europe and in the United States.
