Hispanic Yearbook-Anuario Hispano Celebrates Publication of its Ninth Edition

Librarian of Congress James H. Billington and Representative Esteban Torres (D-Calif.) will host a reception to present the ninth edition of the Hispanic Yearbook-Anuario Hispano on February 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Northwest Curtain of the Great Hall, second floor, Thomas Jefferson Building.

The Hispanic Yearbook-Anuario Hispano, edited by Angela Zavala of T.I.Y.M. Publishing Co., McLean, Va., is distributed free of charge. It contains data on business opportunities for U.S. firms in Latin America, information about career opportunities for Hispanics and the addresses of Hispanic organizations and business development centers nationwide. It also contains listings of federal publications of interest to Spanish speakers and information about educational opportunities and scholarships.

A diskette featuring a compendium of scholarships for Hispanics will be demonstrated by the Department of Energy at the reception. Also, representatives from the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. will announce the funding of two Hispanic Fellowships for students to work in the Hispanic Division at the Library of Congress. The fellowships will be offered in 1995.

For public admittance to the event, call Reynaldo Aguirre of the Hispanic Division at (202) 707-5400.
