Speaker Biography: "The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer" (Scribner), which won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for general nonfiction, is Siddhartha Mukherjee's story of this dreaded disease -- from its origins to the global battle to cure, control and conquer it. Mukherjee is a cancer physician and researcher. An assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University and a staff cancer physician at Columbia University Medical Center, he is a Rhodes scholar with degrees from Stanford University, the University of Oxford and Harvard Medical School. He has published articles in Nature, The New England Journal of Medicine, The New York Times and The New Republic.
