Sen. Ben Cardin kicked off the Library's two-day conference on the Sikh culture, "Taking Heritage to the 21st Century." The conference was sponsored by the Kaur Foundation under the auspices of the Library's Asian Division and Asian Division Friends Society.
Speaker Biography: Sen. Ben Cardin is the junior United States Senator from Maryland and a member of the Democratic Party. Before his election to the Senate, Cardin was a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Maryland's 3rd congressional district from 1987 to 2007.
