Ad Access: The Ad Access Project, funded by the Duke Endowment "Library 2000" Fund, presents images and database information for more than 7,000 advertisements printed in U.S. and Canadian newspapers and magazines between 1911 and 1955. Ad Access concentrates on five main subject areas - Radio, Television, Transportation, Beauty and Hygiene, and World War II.

Ad Access Timeline 1915-1955: The Ad Access Timeline features a chronology of major events and interesting facts in international affairs; United States government and politics; companies, inventions, discoveries and technology; humanities and the arts; entertainment and sports ; and a miscellaneous section. The timelines mainly list events that occurred in or affected the United States to provide general context for the ads in the project.

Engines of Our Ingenuity: This Web site houses the transcripts and streaming audio files of more than 1700 episodes aired on the radio program "Engines of Our Ingenuity." Written and hosted by John Lienhard and produced by KUHF-FM Houston, the program tells the story of how our culture is formed by human creativity.

Food Timeline: An extensive timeline with links to information about food and food products.

HarpWeek:19th Century Advertising - This free site features a sampling of 19th century ads that originally appeared in "Harper's Weekly." Ads include Civil War products, consumer goods, farm land, foreign travel, insurance, retailers and souvenirs.
