Description: Science Accelerator is a gateway to United States Department of Energy (DOE) key resources containing scientific and technical information representing billions of dollars of DOE research. Resources contain the results of research and development (R&D) projects and programs, descriptions of R&D projects under way or recently completed, and major R&D accomplishments. These resources are organized into four general areas: recent R&D results, legacy R&D results, R&D project descriptions, and other science resources. Users are provided the capability to simultaneously search these resources via a single query using federated search technology.
Science Acceleration replaces the GrayLIT Network, a comprehensive portal to Federal gray literature. Grey Literature has been defined on the Grey Literature Network Service as "Information produced on all levels of government, academics, business and industry in electronic and print formats not controlled by commercial publishing, i.e. where publishing is not the primary activity of the producing body." (Luxembourg, 1997 - New York, 2004, GL conferences).
Many technical reports and other grey literature are available through the Library of Congress Technical Reports and Standards Unit (TRS) . Reports can also be found in the general collections of the Library by searching the LC online catalog .
