The Night
Breathes life
Into the souls of the ungrateful
Darkness
Like the swollen belly
Of an expectant mother
Alone
It burns the edges
Of a once empty mind
Pain
Like the sticky fingers
Of a greedy child
Colors
Dancing behind the closed eyelids
Of a wandering heart
Sleepless
