In a single publication, Understanding MARC Bibliographic defines MARC records and provides useful information needed to evaluate them. It also provides descriptions of several commonly-used MARC fields, helpful examples of MARC records and definitions of commonly-used MARC terms.
This new publication supersedes the 6th edition (2000) of Understanding MARC Bibliographic. It includes updated MARC terminology and data element descriptions. It also includes an up-to-date bibliography for further study.
