(Aug 19, 2010) The Ministry of Justice of Israel has launched a comprehensive database for information on all non-profit organizations active in the country (currently over 30,000). The databank is based on a cooperation agreement between the government and a private company, and is said to "…reflect an approach of transparency that is based on presentation of information from government sources next to information that is provided and updated by the [non-profit] organizations themselves." The databank will be updated on a regular basis and include information such as financial reports, by-laws, etc. The website can be viewed in Hebrew, English, and Arabic. Its address is http://www.guidestar.org.il.
