Special Presentation: “The Exquisite Corpse”

Children's Pavilion
10:00 a.m. – 10:55 a.m.

 webcast

Join the Library of Congress, the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance and a cast of amazing children’s book authors and illustrators as they embark on a story-telling journey, called The Exquisite Corpse Adventure, exclusively on the Library of Congress’ website. Beginning on Sept. 26, and every two weeks thereafter (concluding at the 2010 National Book Festival), a new episode will appear on the Library of Congress’ website at read.gov.

Meet some of the authors of this exciting new story as they talk about their own books and about writing The Exquisite Corpse Adventure. John Y. Cole, director of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, and Mary Brigid Barrett, president and executive director of the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance, will moderate the session.

Jon Scieszka, the first National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, has written the first episode, which he will read during this program. Other Exquisite Corpse episode authors who will also participate: Kate DiCamillo, Nikki Grimes, Shannon Hale, Steven Kellogg and Megan McDonald.
