Lalita Tademy was vice president and general manager of a Silicon Valley Fortune 500 company before turning to writing. Her historical novel Cane River (2001) is the result of stories she uncovered through her extensive research into her family’s history. The novel became an instant best seller and an Oprah Book Club selection. She blends American history with stories of her ancestors in her newest book, Red River (Warner Books, 2007). She lives in California.
