Jon Stallworthy was educated at Rugby, the Royal West African Frontier Force, and Magdalen College, Oxford, where he won the Newdigate Prize for Poetry. A Fellow of the British Academy and of the Royal Society of Literature, he is acting president of Wolfson College. He has published seven books of poetry, including Body Language (2005), and has edited several poetry collections. His biography of poet Wilfred Owen won the Duff Cooper Memorial Prize, the W. H. Smith Literary Award, and the E. N. Forster Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
