Joan Nathan, the author of 10 cookbooks, is a regular contributor to The New York Times. She is a two-time recipient of the James Beard Award and the IACP/Julia Child Cookbook Award for her book Jewish Cooking America (1994) and The New American Cooking (2005). She was guest curator of Food Culture USA at the 2005 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. In addition to hosting Jewish Cooking in America with Joan Nathan on PBS, she has done numerous guest appearances on television programs, including Today and Good Morning America. An inductee into the James Beard Foundation’s Who’s Who in American Food and Beverage, she has also received the Silver Spoon Award from Food Arts magazine. She lives in Washington, D.C. and on Martha’s Vineyard.
