Thomas Mallon is a novelist, essayist, and book reviewer who has received the Ingram Merrill Award for outstanding work as a writer. His essays and reviews have appeared in Harper's, The New Yorker, The New York Times Book Review, and The Washington Post Book World. His novels that are based on real characters and situations in U.S. history, include Dewey Defeats Truman, Henry and Clara, Bandbox, and Fellow Travelers (Pantheon, 2007). He resides in Washington, D.C.
