Patricia MacLachlan has written numerous critically acclaimed books for children of all ages including Arthur, For the Very First Time , winner of the Golden Kite Award for fiction; and Sarah, Plain and Tall , winner of the 1986 Newbery Medal and the subject of a popular television movie series. Her latest books are Edward's Eyes (Simon & Schuster, 2007) and Fiona Loves the Night (HarperCollins, 2007). The recipient of the National Humanities Medal, she lives in Williamsburg, Massachusetts.
