Dick Davis, professor of Persian at Ohio State University and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, has produced more than 20 books, including translations of prose and verse from Italian and Persian and numerous books of poetry. His most recent collection of poems is A Trick of Sunlight (Swallow Press, 2006), and his poems have appeared in such journals as The Sewanee Review, The Southern Review and The Yale Review. The recipient of the Ingram Merrill Prize for "excellence in poetry," he lives near Columbus, Ohio.
