Author Biography

MariJo Moore

MariJo Moore

MariJo Moore, of Cherokee, Irish and Dutch ancestry, is an author, artist, poet and journalist. The author of several books and editor of a collection of writings by North Carolina American Indians, her essays, poetry, short stories and commentaries have appeared in numerous magazines, newspapers, anthologies and journals. Her most recent novel is The Diamond Door Knob (Renegade Planets Publishing, 2003). She was honored as North Carolina's Distinguished Woman of the Year in the Arts in 1998 and was chosen creative prose fiction Writer of the Year in 2002 by the Wordcraft Circle of Native Writers and Storytellers. She lives in the mountains of western North Carolina.
