Lawrence Block

Lawrence Block

Lawrence Block is a Mystery Writers of America Grand Master and the winner of Edgar and Shamus awards, four each. His novels’ characters range from the urban noir of Matthew Scudder to the urbane effervescence of Bernie Rhodenbarr, while other characters include the globe-trotting insomniac Evan Turner and the introspective assassin Keller. He has published articles and short fiction in American Heritage, Redbook and The New York Times and has published several collections of short fiction in book form. His latest book is The Burglar on the Prowl (W. Morrow, 2004). He lives in New York City.
