Author Biography

Ed Young

Ed Young

Ed Young, born in Tientsin, China, has illustrated over 70 books for children, 15 of which he has written. A two-time Hans Christian Andersen Medal nominee, he is the author-illustrator of Lon Po Po: A Red-Riding Hood Story from China, winner of the 1990 Caldecott Medal and Seven Blind Mice, a Caldecott Honor Book, and the illustrator of The Emperor and the Kite, a Caldecott Honor Book by Jane Yolen. His most recent books are Monkey King (HarperCollins, 2001) and What About Me (Penguin Putnam, 2002). Mr. Young lives in Westchester, New York.
