Author Biography

Luci Tapahonso

Luci Tapahonso

Luci Tapahonso was born in Shiprock, New Mexico where she grew upon a farm within the Navajo culture. She is the author of several booksof poetry including Sáanii Dahataa/The Women Are Singing: Poems and Stories (Univ. of Arizona Press, 1993) and Blue Horses Rush In (Univ. of Arizona, 1997). Winner of the 1999 Wordcraft Circle of Native American Writers "Storyteller of the Year" Award, Ms. Tapahonso is a professor of American Indian Studies and English at the University of Arizona in Tuscon.
