Author Biography

Anita Shreve

Anita Shreve

Anita Shreve, who began writing fiction while working as a high school teacher, became a journalist writing freelance articles for magazines before turning to writing fiction full time. She is the author of the international bestseller The Pilot's Wife (Little, Brown, 1998), an Oprah's Book Club selection, and The Weight of the Water (Little, Brown, 1997), a finalist for the Orange Prize. Her most recent book is Sea Glass (Little, Brown, 2002). Ms. Shreve teaches writing at Amherst College and divides her time between Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
