Author Biography

Tony Hillerman

Tony Hillerman

Award-winning writer Tony Hillerman is the author of more than 20 books including 15 in his distinguished Leaphorn and Chee series. His most recent book is The Wailing Wind (HarperCollins, 2002), the latest book in that series. A student of Southwestern history and culture, Mr. Hillerman often draws his themes from the conflict between modern society and traditional Native American values and customs. He is the recipient of the 2002 Lifetime Achievement Award from Malice Domestic and his autobiography, Seldom Disappointed (HarperCollins, 2001), won the Agatha Award for best nonfiction. Mr. Hillerman lives in Albuquerque.
