Author Biography

Marie Arana

Marie Arana

Before becoming editor of the The Washington Post Book World, Marie Arana had a long career in book publishing as vice president and senior editor at both Simon & Schuster and Harcourt Brace. She recently published her first book, An American Chica: Two Worlds, One Childhood (Dial Press, 2001). In this memoir, Ms. Arana recounts her family history in the United States and Peru, building a bridge between the two cultures.
