Accomplishments

Task Group on RDA Training Materials:

The Standing Committee on Training Task Group on RDA Training Materials was formed in January 2012 with Larisa Walsh, University of Chicago, as chair. The task group was charged to collect existing RDA training documentation from PCC and non-PCC sources. The collected materials were posted to the Cataloger's Learning Workshop (CLW) web site in October 2012.

RDA Bibliographic and Authority Record Examples:

The Standing Committee on Training RDA Records Task Group, formed in November 2011 under the chairmanship of SCT member George Prager, collected a wealth of RDA bibliographic and authority records to be used for training and educational purposes. The task group completed its work on March 1, 2012. The records have been posted to the Catalogers Learning Workshop web page.

RDA NACO "Bridge" Reviewers Online Workshop:

This One-hour online workshop, organized and presented by the PCC Standing Committee on Training, gives guidance and some best practices for RDA NACO review. Recorded July 25, 2012.

Task Group to Revise the E-Serials Module:

New charge delivered and new members recruited, November 2011. Work completed March 2012.

Task Groups

RDA NACO Training Task Group:

Formed in July 2012; charged to develop RDA NACO training for new PCC members.

RDA Series Training Task Group:

Formed in July 2012; charged to develop: 1) "Bridge" training for AACR2 series authorities catalogers making the transition to RDA; 2) RDA series training for new PCC members.

Charge

Under the guidance of the PCC Policy Committee, the PCC Standing Committee on Training shall identify the need for training programs, workshops, and institutes aimed at developing cataloging skills that support the Program goals for both new participants and for continuing education and shall identify, develop as necessary, and promote the distribution of easy-to-use documentation in support of Program goals.
