PSD policy specialist responsible for this weekly list: Janis Young
This proposal was made to add Francoism to the caption for Fascism in Table Z1. The meeting considers Francoism to be too narrow to add to the general Fascism caption. The first subject heading assigned to the work being cataloged is Valencia (Spain : Region)--History--20th century--Bibliography, and it can be classified in Z2704.V1. The proposal was not necessary.
Alaska Native land transfers
This concept is covered by the existing heading Alaska Natives--Land tenure, the syntax of which follows that in the list of free-floating subdivisions used under names of ethnic groups (Subject Headings Manual H 1103). Alaska Natives--Land tenure should be assigned to the work being cataloged. The proposal was not approved.
This proposal was made to add a BT Indian sexual minorities to the existing heading Indian gays. Hierarchies for various groups of sexual minorities are made only for the unqualified headings. The proposal was not approved.
City Nord (Business park : Hamburg, Germany)
The meeting considers business parks to be corporate entities that should be established as name headings. The category Business parks will be added to the Group 1 list in SHM H 405, and business parks that are currently in LCSH will be reestablished as name headings. The proposal was not approved.
Farnham Courts (New Haven, Conn.); McConaughy Terrace (New Haven, Conn.); West Hills (New Haven, Conn. : Housing project)
Some existing headings for housing projects have been established as names, and others as subjects. The housing projects that currently exist in LCSH have two BTs, Housing projects--[Place] and Planned communities--[Place]; planned communities are established as name headings, according to SHM H 405. The meeting would like to follow that precedent. The category Housing projects will be added to the Group 1 list in H 405, and housing projects that are currently established in LCSH will be reestablished as name headings. The proposals were not approved.
Zonta Health Camp (South Chine, Me.)
The Zonta Health Camp was a preventorium, which is analogous to a sanatorium. Sanatoriums are established as name headings, according to SHM H 405. The proposal was not approved.
