Present from PSD: L. Dechman, R. Goudreau
The work being cataloged appears to be about the theory of utopias, and as such, should be classified in HX. The proposal was not approved.
There is already a number for Juvenile literature at PG519. The proposal was not necessary.
In accordance with the decision on the subject proposal Amici miei films (see below), since the subject heading was not approved, the classification proposal was not approved.
According to the Classification and Shelflisting Manual, F 632, 3.b.(2), see references are not made from variant names that are not pseudonyms but merely foreign language renderings of the name, even if the name authority record contains such references. The proposal to print this number is based on providing a reference from the Russian form of the name. The proposal was not approved.
The schedule for fisheries includes a reference from "Flounder" to "Flatfish". Since this proposal is for Arrowtooth flounder, the meeting feels that the existing number (SH351.F5) is sufficient for all types of flounder fisheries. The proposal was not approved.
Amici miei films
There are only three films in this group. Ordinarily, subject analysis for a group of three or fewer is handled by using the uniform titles of the individual films as subject access points. Collective headings of this type, such as Star Wars films, are authorized for groups of four or more. The proposal was not approved.
Hersteld Evangelisch-Lutherse Kerk
This is the name of a religious denomination, and as such should be established according to descriptive cataloging conventions in the name authority file (Subject Headings Manual, H 405). The proposal was not approved.
The existing subject heading Langel family is of the same origin as Langle, therefore the meeting considers Langle to be a variant spelling. A UF for Langle family will be added to the record for Langel family. The proposal was not approved.
Waikiki Beach (Honolulu, Hawaii)
The heading Waikiki (Honolulu, Hawaii) already exists in the name authority file, and represents the city section, which includes the beach. The item being cataloged is a map that includes the beach and the surrounding commercial district, for which the existing name heading for the city section is appropriate. The meeting feels that there is no need for two separate headings at this time. The proposal was not approved.
