Present from CPSO: P. Weiss, K. Griffiths, R. Goudreau, D. Thompson, J. Young, E. Dechman

Works on societies that are associated with a specific topic are classed with that topic rather than in AS. Since the work being cataloged appears to be about Azerbaijani literature, it should be classed in PL313.5. The proposal was not approved.

QH104.5 is used only for regions that span more than one state. Works about regions that are within a single state are classed with the state in QH105. The proposal was not approved. The work that was cataloged as an E-Cip has been re-classified.

Subject Headings

Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen (Germany)

This World Heritage site consists of a coal mine and a complex of associated industrial buildings. It seems more appropriate to treat it as a building complex than as a geographic area. Per the Subject Cataloging Manual: Subject Headings, H 1334, building complexes are tagged 110 and established in the vernacular of the country where they are located. Accordingly, the heading was changed to Industrielle Kulturlandschaft Zollverein (Essen, Germany).
