PoCo 2010 Meeting

Decisions

  1. PoCo will write a white paper to develop PCC RDA implementation recommendations. The paper will take into account possible RDA decisions made by the national libraries with the knowledge that PCC member institutions may desire to make individual decisions about implementing RDA.
  2. After the test period ends in Dec. 2010, PCC members may continue to use the RDA testing guidelines from Jan. 2 until further notice, with the exception that already-established AACR2 heading forms should be used in bibliographic records. This decision will be reevaluated at the time an implementation decision is made.
  3. PoCo supports forming the group: PCC Advisory Committee on Initiatives to gather information and identify resources to drive the agendas of the policy and standing committee agendas.
  4. PoCo supports the proposal to investigate omitting ISBD punctuation from MARC records (whether AACR or RDA) from the May 2010 operations meeting.
  5. The Secretariat will set up a web survey to give members an opportunity to indicate their interests in serving on committees, current task groups and other activities.
  6. PoCo supports full level status for SACO in the PCC governance structure, required training for new SACO institutions, retraining for those institutions that would benefit, and individual SACO membership.
  7. Full level BIBCO and CONSER members will no longer be asked to submit an annual report. New statistics displays as demonstrated at the meeting will be used to tell the story of the accomplishments from the previous year.
  8. The web page "Decisions and action items from PCC meetings" will be used to show decisions and actions from meetings instead of meeting minutes.
